The power has gone off, what do I do?
If you are in a flat check to see if the communal areas have power, if so then the fault is likely to be your fuse board. The most common cause is a blown light bulb causing the switch to trip on the board. Check to see if any of the switches our in the off position.
If the whole block/street is off then there is nothing that we can do about it. Try contacting Central Networks on:

Water is gushing out of a tap/pipe under mains pressure, what should I do?
Turn off the water at the mains (Find the stop-cock when you first move in!) and call us or your landlord the next working day during office hours.
If you are experiencing problems with your water supply we are not likely to be able to give you any help. Please contact Severn Trent on 0800 783 4444. -
I can smell gas, I think there is a leak.
If you smell gas, think you have a gas leak, or are worried that fumes containing carbon monoxide are escaping from a gas appliance, please call the free Gas Emergency Services emergency line immediately on 0800 111 999.
Also:
* open all doors and windows to ventilate the property.
* do not turn on/off any naked electrical switches.
* extinguish all naked flames, do not smoke, strike matches or do anything ,which could cause ignition.
* If there are any electrical security entry phones/locks, please open door manually. -
I've got no water!
Sometimes, Severn Trent turn off sections of mains pipe at night to check for and identify leaks. These interruptions normally last less than 2 hours, between midnight and 6am. If that might give you a problem, get in touch with them on 0800 783 4444.
